Logitech® Z-5300 - mac compatible?

I was wondering if the Logitech® Z-5300 is compatible with my new Macbook Pro. I liked my 5300 with my alienware, but I am now making the switch to apple. I connected my 5300 via a pc card, but my new mac doesn't have a pc card slot. What do I do? I love my mac and don't wanna give it away, and same thing with my 5.1 speakers. Please help!

Hi, you can just use the headphone jack. Set the selector at the back of the sub to "2"  and hook up the green cable to the headphone jack and just turn it on and enjoy:smileyhappy:

Re: Logitech® Z-5300 - mac compatible?

Hi, you can just leave the orange and black jacks unhooked. Switiching to 2 on the back of the sub will upmix 2 channels into all channel stereo. That just means you end up getting all the same sound from all 5 speakers.

Re: Logitech® Z-5300 - mac compatible?

wait i don't get it. As of right now i haven't touched the sub, just plugged in my green jack into the headset port on my apple. And I think that I'm getting 5.1. So you are saying if I switch the sub to 2 then I'll get stereo sound? why would I want that? Didn't i buy a 5.1 system for.. 5.1 sound?

Hi, no, it must be the settings on your souncard then. When set to 5, it shouldnt give 5.1 when connected in stereo.
