Ok, so everything was running perfectly smoothly, but a problem appears to have recently developed in the audio system.
When playing stereo sound, all the speakers work fine, left sides taking left, right speakers taking right, and the subwoofer is active.
However, when playing sound designed for 5.1, where sound is going to an individual speaker, the only speakers that work are the left and right speakers. The left rear, right rear, centre, and subwoofers do not make any sound.
I had not deliberately changed any settings whatsoever when this problem took effect.
Thanks

Hi,
Does the input say Optical, Coaxial, or 6 channel direct? And is the switch on the back of the control pod set to 6 channel direct?
Logitech Customer Support for further assistance.
You can also Email Us

hold on matthew, i appreciate that you are having a similar problem but i feel it would be less confusing if you could leave my thread to my problem.
The input type is "Direct", and yes, the switch on the back is set to 6 channel.

when doing a "test" using the music effect, every speaker makes a noise but the centre one.
in the test in control panel, when the effect is set to music, only the front left and right speakers react (yes, it is set to 5.1 on the computer)
when the effect is set to "6 ch direct", then all speakers respond, except the subwoofer responds in place of the centre speaker.

ok, totally forgot about this topic, and I foudn the answer aswel.
check your conencion to the sound card, make sure itsin the correct port,. As I had on the previous day cleaned the system and thought I had placed the cabls correctly into the card. Found later that I hadn't and it was the reason to why nothign was workign correctly.
