Hello Everyone,
i accidentally cut the little wire (audio input wire) on the wired remote for my Z-2300 speaker system.
is there anything i can do?? i am broke right now and have no music in my house....NOT GOOD ![]()
i tried splicing the wires with another plug, but i can't seem to get it to work.
i LOVE these speakers and had them sometimes connected to my MP3 player as a home-system, sometimes
have them connected to my television.
any help is greatly appreciated. i can also post photos if needed.

You have two wires and the outer shield correct? Possibly red, white and the bare shield woven around them.
Did you try and splice the cut cable ends back together or use a new 1/8" stereo connector?
If possible a photo may help.

thanks, BLH.
i am going to try that tomorrow morning. i will post the results......i am guessing i can go over to best buy or something and just get a cheap device with a stereo jack, clip it off and splice to my 'wired remote' audio cable.
thanks for the suggestion.

Hi There - well i bought an 1/8" stereo jack and spliced it to the audio input wire on the wired remote and all i get is
a loud humming noise, no music from MP3 player or from TV (i tried both).
Also, i must add that originally the audio wire was cut because i was investigating why the jack had gone bad; i was only getting sound from the right channel speaker - none from the left. The original jack which came with the system had gone bad because i could wiggle it sometimes and get sound from both speakers.
any thoughts?
thanks.

The shield wire {outer woven one around the other two}. Are the replacement and original shields soldered together and not touching the other two wires. All three have to be insulated from each other and not shorting together.
The new one was shielded?
