I left for a business trip yesterday morning, and on getting home tonight I'm not getting any sound out of my speakers (Z-2300). I checked all of the connections, and couldn't find any problems, and the subwoofer's fuse does not appear to be blown (no damage/discoloration). The only sound I can get out of the speakers is some electronic static noise if I remove the jack from my sound card (SB X-Fi). Placing the jack against the back of the card - or most other surfaces on the back of the computer - produces intermittant crackles and a low-pitched hum. When they are plugged in to the card, silence.
I've tried plugging the speakers into other audio sources and had the same result, and did get sound out of the headphone jack on the sound card, so I'm confident the problem is the speakers. Any advice?

If the fuse was blown the Z2300 would be completely dead. Even the power On LED would be out.
Since the Control Pod is all analog devices there is no reset sequence for it.
You may want to turn the control pod power Off and the Main Power switch on the Sub Off.
Then rotate both the Base and Main Volume controls from 0% to 100% a few times in case they got dirty.
With the power still Off. Make sure the HDB15 connector on the control pods cable, is firmly seated in the connector on the Sub.

Based on your troubleshooting, it does seem that the speakers are malfunctioning. The control pod connects to the sub woofer using a dsub connector. It could be 9 pin or 15 pin. Please check that connector for bent or broken pins. The Z2300 speakers do come with a two year warranty. Please contact Customer Care for your region for further assistance and a possible warranty replacement. If you currently reside in North America, please feel free to contact me via private message.
I hope this helps you out.
