Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

You can.

Mine does not work correctly and is out of warranty, so I have been looking around for information to FIY (Fix It Yourself)

the pinouts may be similar to a z5500.

Momentary +5V to pins 8 then 7 will turn on the amp in mute mode. Toggle 8 again to un-mute and toggle 7 to turn it off.

5 Lft
6 ?
7 On
8 Mute
9 RFt
10 +8V
11 GND
12 GND
13 ?
14 +18V
15 +-18V

z5300

pin outs on the remote so far

1 GND
2 headphone
3 X
4 headphone
5
6 +5V
7 X
8 X
9 X
10
11 +.6V ???
12
13 +5V
14
15 +5V

the remote uses a ST Microelectronics ST62T25 06 8-bit microcontroller
pins 3,7,8,9 are not connected.

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

update

z5300

pin outs on the remote so far

1 GND
2 headphone Left
3 X
4 headphone Right
5
6 +5V
7 X
8 X
9 X
10
11 +.6V while off (prolly ttl) 0V while on
12 pulse ~ +1V to power off the z5300 (+5V works) / ~ -1V to power it on
13 +5V
14 signal. I don't have the appropriate facilities to record and save the ttl to work out their signal convention. It looks like the first two thirds codes the selection. (Volume, bass, fader...) and the last third codes the value. There are at least 25 steps to the volume, so there must be 5 bits minimum to code value.
15 +5V clock signal

the remote uses a ST Microelectronics ST62T25 06 8-bit microcontroller
pins 3,7,8,9 are not connected.

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

I don't see how you can pulse ~ -1V to power it on

Can you explain this ?

Thanks

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

our/my controller no longer works, ive tested the AMP with a Clients PodControl and the AMP/Sub is fine.

@Koryo,  How do we pulse -1V on, pin12 ?

If i do not get any support from Logitech , I will be forced to try this mod to power on the system plate.
And hope to have open Volume..... :-/

btw: thanks for your research & testings

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

Nevermind:

I managed to just RE / hard wire it.
No need to turn it on, via switch/Vcc+5v. or  Control Pod .

Direct sound is louder and range is fuller for my application . (Multi room app.)
Ill post a how. at DIYaudio dot com, some time soon.

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

I'm very interested on how you did this. I've been dying to use my Z-5300 since I lost my control pod during my last move :smileysad:

Thanks

Re: Z-5300 Without SoundTouch Remote

has anyone ever given a step by step write-up on how to use this without the remote or has anyone figured out an alternate remote that works?
