I bought my Z-5500 on Dec. 2009, and it works just fine till yesterday 4/7/2012 that the power button just goes from blue to red (standby mode).
When I tried to turn it back on, it just goes back to red like instantly.
I did check the fuse, and it looks just fine.
I tried to turn the power switch off in the back of the subwoffer for a while and turn it back on, the standby light will be on.
After pressing the power button, it will stay on for around 3 minetes, and it goes back to standby mode itself.
Does that mean the control pod is dead??
What can I do to get it fix or replace?
Please Help...

Hello Michaels,
Try to reset your control pod. With the unit in standby mode, press Input + Settings simultaneously for 6 seconds. This will display the firmware version for a few seconds and will also reset the settings to their original factory values. If your problem persists, please contact Customer Care for your region for further assistance and to see what options you have available. If you currently reside in North America, please feel free to contact me via private message.
I hope this helps you out.
Sincerely,

I did the resetting process; however, it still won't stay on for over 3 minutes.
I will contact you using private message and also the Customer Care as well.
Thank you.

Hi, I am having the same problem, the reset does not work, neither does turning off the power for a few minutes, the fuse is in good condition also.

I bought my speakers in April 2008 and now suddenly I have this exact same problem too... I have tried replacing fuses and resetting the control POD as you have said and still no dice.
Your technical support have not responded to my email which I sent two days back. Can you please inform me of what I can do next to remedy this problem.

If your controls pods are fuct, you can always try using a control pod bypass cable. They are available on ebay. You would lose your digital connections as the bypass cable only has the 3 3.5mm connectors on it. Here is one.

I too have that problem. Obviously the control pod is flawed. I don't care if the warranty has expired or not - if this many people have the same problem, Logitech shoud replace the part. These are not cheap speakers. I had higher expectations for these than I would for a $25 pair.
