This system sounds fine when listening to it over the speakers. However, when I plug in my headphones to the control pod, I get very muddy highs, and no bass at all, much like an alarm clock.
I'm running an HD Omega Claro Plus+ sound card, using the optical output, to the control pod for the Z-5500, with a Monster optical cable. The headphones I'm using are Logitech Ultimate Ears SuperFi 5pro's. I tested the headphones with my ipod, and they're fully capable of producing bass, and clear highs.
Is this by design, or is my system broken?
