I came here to suggest you a solution that could solve a load of problems with the Z cinema system that many many custommers complain about. Sound is too weak, automatic control of bass cause it to support a lower frequency range wich is really frustrating for people that whant to hear their bass!!
Also VERY IMPORTANT! The usb link cause the inner speaker pre amp to be locked. yes LOCKED to about 20% total power capacity. Reason is when the driver take charge of the speaker, there is an overide on windows Volume control. Same for bass and treble.
Any other logitech system do not have that issue, because they are all pluged throught the green 16 mm jack.
Windows bass, trebele and volume amplification should be INDEPENDANT from the Z Cinema! It is why people complain of it's low power.
the x-240 can give you a crisp clear sound even louder then the maximum of z-cinema! This is not normal considering the 40 watts rms per speakers. Please do something, That SRS is total junk, (meaning the driver intreprets badly the commands and screw things badly. Maybe the driver is made by SRS, but you guys have to get on it and just rewrite a very simple driver, that mainly make windows amplification independant!
