Z313 interference noise in speakers

Hi, received this speaker set for Christmas. When  music is playing, it's fine, but there's a constant clicking in the background coming through the speakers. Sounds like a helicopter. Is there any way to clear up this intererence? I have followed the instructions and plugged the jack into the headphone input...just for yucks, I also plugged it into the main speaker input in my system as well and got the same results.

I'm plugging into an HP Desktop, fyi.

Appreciate your time.

Thanks,

Gavin

Re: Z313 interference noise in speakers

Hi,

The interfence is probably on the AC line. If you move the speakers to a different AC outlet do you still get the noise?

Thank you for your post.

Re: Z313 interference noise in speakers

Hey Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, unfortunately, I'd done that. Unplugged from the wall outlet they were in, and went to a power strip that was in the same wall jack. Then moved to a different strip in a different outlet. Sound persisted.

Thanks,

Gavin

Re: Z313 interference noise in speakers

I am having the same problem, i switched outlets and theres buzzing sound in the background, it gets louder as increase the volume.  I even unplugged all usb ports and peripherals from my PC.   I don't have a radio or blutooth devices around either.  All connections are secure

Re: Z313 interference noise in speakers

I know this is an old thread.

My wife and I resolved a problem with steady constant clicking going on. It might stop for a few seconds, then continue clicking. This clicking sound changed with the volume. We tried everything from UPS, to surge protectors to direct plug in to the wall, etc...

I ran across the solution by accident when I unplugged my wife's iPhone AC charger from her UPS. Her speakers were actually plugged into MY UPS at the time. As a layed the unplugged iPhone AC charger cable (still connected to the iPhone) near her speaker AC wire, the sound got louder. Softer the farther away, louder the closer I got. We unplugged the charger cable and it still ticked - because her iPhone was near a satellite speaker. Once we took her phone away from the satellite speaker more than about 4 feet - NO MORE TICKING!

My iPhone does not cause the ticking, just her's. Same model of phone. This was repeatable and predictable, so we're positive about this "fix". What we don't know is why only her iPhone is causing this or what "thing" in her iPhone does this. I suspect that other types of phones can do this, and they may cause the speakers emit an occassional quick hum or tone or something that sounds like part of morse code.

I hope this helps at least one other person.
