Same problem here.  Happens without fail regardless of what app I'm using for music (even the built in one), and turning off screen lock doesn't work either.  Stinks cause the sound is really good for the price.

Knock on wood, but iOS5 seems to have solved this problem.  

I listened to it for hours on Saturday without it dropping the connection.
