Hey people!
I wonder if anyone can shed a little light onto my issue - which is very bizarre and may take some explaining! I have recently moved house and purchased a Samsung LCD tv (LE37B650, for reference!) which I have connected via optical cable to some brand new Logitech Z5500's.
Now whilst watching via optical the only options on the logitech pod are Stereo, Stereox2, Dolby Movie and Dolby Music.
The issue is that if I have either Dolby Movie OR Dolby Music selected on the pod, all voices coming out of all corner speakers (the central speaker is fine bizarrely), are digitally distorted. Background noises, music are all ok...just seems to be voices that are digitally distorted - like its being overprocessed.
I then tried switching the switch on the back of the pod to 3x stereo analogue input and connected that way....but the same result occurs - digital distortion only on voices from all corner speakers in Dolby Movie or Dolby Music mode. That rules out the optical cable being the issue then!
I then connected up my PC via the component input, switched to 'Direct' on the pod and watch a DVD with Dolby 5.1 and...voila...works absolutely fine.
To rule things out even further, I took my Dads pod and sub (as he owns an older set of Z5500's) and swapped them with mine but again, same issue.
So there it is. And im stumped! Oh, and I've put the pod into Diagnostics mode and when connected via optical from the TV it states its recieving PCM 2 channel.
Any help (and I mean ANY!) would be much appreciated!
Thanks guys!

Hi,
It is obviously the settings on your TV audio out, not the speakers.
What format is the TV sending to the Z-5500?

Its passing out PCM 2 channel.
However, It seems to be a fault with the TV and not the speakers as Ive now tried the speakers on two other Tv's and they work fine on two other Tv's.
Very weird issue. The TV is passing out stereo fine. But something in the signal is corrupting when being uprating to Pro logic.
Still, the speakers are in the clear if they work on other sets so I guess Its back to the shop for the telly! ![]()
