Z906 Speaker icons randomly lit up on console

When using my Z906s, the speaker icons on the control console for the unit are usually unlit. However today I was using the speakers to play my Xbox 360 and, randomly without any button presses, every speaker icon lit up momentarily for a few seconds.

Does anyone know why this happened and should I be concerned about it?

Thanks

Re: Z906 Speaker icons randomly lit up on console

Hello jok12,

Typically the lights on the Z906 console will illuminate the appropriate speakers depending on the source signal.  For example, if your source is a Dolby Digital 5.1 source, all of the speakers lights will illuminate.  If your source is only stereo, only the front left and right (and possibly sub woofer) lights will illuminate.  Since your speakers are currently functioning (with the exception of the control pod lights) I personally wouldn't worry about.  The Z906 speakers do come with a two year warranty.  If you have any problems with your speakers in the future, please contact Customer Care for your region.

You could also perform a reset on the control pod to see if it corrects your problem.

  1. Power your Z906 off using the Power button on the Control Console.

  2. While in the "Off" state, press and hold down the Input button for eight (8) seconds. You'll see several lights on the Control Console light up and there will be a popping sound from the speakers.

I hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
