I recieved my z906 today but am having issues using optical inputs.  My MB is an Asus p9x79 Deluxe.

I see a red light at the end of my optical cable.  My audio manager for the MB has a check next to the Digital Output(optical) and when I play music, I see the levels changing under my playback pannel in windows7.  

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get some sound using an optical cable?

Never mind.  Turns out to be a faulty optical cable.
