Z906 and the full 5.1 Effect

Hi all,

I recently bought the Z906 and connected to my LED TV, as well as to my AppleTV through the digital optical audio port.

Now, if I select the 3D effect on the Z906, I only hear the sound coming from the three front speakers (same if I select the TV or the AppleTV), while from the rear speakers it just comes out a "slight noise".

To hear the correct sound also in the rear speakers, I must switch to the 4.1 effect (but in this case the front center speaker is not working).

Is it a problem of settings, wrong cable or something else? BTW I also have the same issue when I connect the Z906 to the UPC-Cablecom decoder (sorry for adv.).

Forget my question if I placed it in the wrong section/thread, otherwise many thanks for the help.

Re: Z906 and the full 5.1 Effect

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with the rear speakers.  They do work fine when in 4.1 mode but then the centre speaker obviously doesn't work which is not ideal as you really notice the difference when it's off.  On 2.1 mode the sound coming out of the rear speakers is really annoying.  Sometimes you'll get 3D sound from them even on a normal TV program (like the audience laughing) which is great, but for most of the time the noise is just really low and it sort of sounds like twittering.  Very distracting for the person sat near a rear speaker and not what I expected from the system when I ordered it, as our last surround sound system didn't have this annoying twittering sound - we got 3D sound for everything we watched.

Anyone have any ideas please?  We've only had this a few weeks and are starting to get really annoyed with it!
