I bought the Z-5500 about 2 weeks ago and so far I have nothing but praise for the system as a whole...and it fits in my room better than expected. I was able to find good placement and distance for all speakers, control, and sub. For a 17 year old, the $300 price w/ shipping from Amazon.com was a little hard to swallow but "ya gotta do what ya gotta do" sometimes.
Anyway, the ONLY issue i have right now is that there is slight static in the center speaker. It is noticeable during quieter parts of a movie where there is a break in the action and especially when people talk and during certain music that i play from my 1st gen ipod (lol). Basically at times the center speaker isn't as clear as it should be. The connection is fine--i checked that. could it be interference from all the wires that it has now become hopelessly tangled in behind my tv??? I would hardly think that it's the speaker cuz it's brand new and the system hasn't even been pushed real hard yet.
Does anyone have any ideas??? All help is appreciated!!!
Timmy

hi mate. sorry to hear this, i belive i have same problem, but as i checked everything i found that if you compress speaker in the top middle part with your fingers, noise is gone... i think its connection of silver and black plastics to weak for this speakers... and plastic makes this noise... i only get them yesterday... such a shame...![]()
