x-530 Drivers

does the x-530 speakers have any drivers? I cant seem to find them on the site. I litterally just opened them up and set them up on my brand new rig.

I play a song in iTunes and only got sound out of 2 speakers - i got worried and came on here to learn that it is normal. I will open a game up now - but in the meantime can someone tell me where to get the drivers, if there are any - or any cool audio software to tweak?

Thanks!

Re: x-530 Drivers

No speakers ever need drivers.

Excluding, usb speakers.

You need to configure the settings on your sound card.

Re: x-530 Drivers

Hi, the stuff you are playing needs to be in 5.1. Music is 2 channel audio.

It is true. This has to do with a setting your sound card.

Re: x-530 Drivers

Actually, I have had my system for a couple of years and they've worked fine until I wiped Vista from my computer and installed Windows XP service pack 2 and now I can't get any sound out of them:smileysad: Anyone know what I should do? I have surround sound 5.1 in my audio settings.

Re: x-530 Drivers

Hello. I will let you know that you are now alone. I have a Dell Dimension 4600.  I bought it with XP, so I"ve had it for while now.  I've always had the Logitech X530 speakers and they have always sounded very nice.

Then, Service Pack 2 was installed and it messed up my center channel. Itunes played ok because it does not play in full surround when it is playing normal music.  Online video streaming was also ok, coming in through the 4 corner speakers and the woofer, but no center.  Win Media Player would not play the center channel and it is rather annoying when you are watching a movie in surround and your center channel does not work.  Afterall, the center channel is what carries voices while the other speakers handle the rest of the audio.

Dell Connect was unable to help me. It was the biggest pain in the rear.  Finally, a buddy of mine who's a computer programmer fixed it.  We downloaded the VLC Media Player because it has the missing decodes that Win Media Player does not have.  That still did not solve the issue.  We then went into somewhere (I don't remember where) and clicked on a couple things and fixed it.

Now I'm in the same boat again because I reinstalled XP Pro and for the past week I've been wasting time trying to get the center channel to work.  I don't mean to complain but petty reasons like this is why I love my MacBook any day of the week over my Dell XP.  But I'm not ready to go all Apple yet.

Any help from any one will be much appreciated.

Re: x-530 Drivers

As to the issue with itunes, you'll find that it is a setting with the windows sound settings.  If you go into "Speaker Properties" click on the "Enhancements" tab and select "Speaker Fill".  It's like virtual surround sound, but it does the trick in most cases I've found.  Hope it helps :smileyhappy:

Re: x-530 Drivers

I also found that windows can crap out when playing with sound systems e.g No sound coming out surround speaker only FL & FR!!  I  found that in most cases all speakers except the FL & FR speakers will be turned down in the "Balance" settings (Speaker Properties/Levels Tab).  Hope that helps as well :smileyvery-happy:
