I have been desperately looking for a decent price on these speakers everywhere. It seems that around october-december of 2005 they were going for around $200 in several places but right now the absolute cheapest I can find is $260. Is there a reason for this? Has there been a new version release with more power or features since then? If there is anyone who can help explain this to me or find a better price I would very much appreciate it.

Why were these speakers $60 cheaper 6 months ago? If there is a reason (features or power) then I'll go ahead and buy them, but if there hasn't been anything new added I just can't justify it.

I am looking into purchasing the Z-5500 also.  I only wanted to spend around $200.  Next tag showed that the price was reasonable in March and has increased since then.  I found that zipzoomfly has it for $259 with free shipping.  I think I'm going to wait and I bet that before the end of the year it will come down again.  Regards
