hi, recently ive been having a little trouble with the contoll pod. the whole system works fine however when i turn the sub off at the back. all my setup is lost.

you know when you set the input. and volume and effect. it usually saves the settings when its turned off doesnt it ? well it used to for me however recently for some strange reason after i turn the sub on, it resets everything.

from Direct. to  Optical. from 6chnnel to stereo. from volume 3 to 0 and from sub, max to 0......you get the idea. its a real pain in the **bleep** having to re-set everything up. just for it to be lost when i turn it off again.

it never used to do this and has only recently been doing it. any ideas how i can fix this? because its really frustrating :/   any help is appreciated :]

This used to happen to me many times on my old set.  However, I just received my new replacement today and it still occurs but occassionally.  I'm having a funny feeling it could be related to inconsistent power feed.  My set is hooked to a UPS and sometimes there is voltage fluctuation.  This could potentially explain why this occurs.  

Another reason is that it could be heat-related (behind the control pod)

When this issue occurs, the standby light changes from red-to-purple (when turned on) and displayed Input-Coax, Effect-No Digital Data.  The volume used to reset to '0' on the old set, but not this one.  I don't understand why this happens. 

Any additional feedback would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.  =)

All Z-5500 do that...its like it goes back to a default setting...all you do just dont shut you sub off from the back...My Z-5500 is brand new bought it 4 years ago and it was in storage all this time right up to Nov 2011 and mine does this so does my brothers his dads and my girlfriends so id say its common...
