Hi Guys,

I just got a new control pod yesterday and decided to try to use the digital inputs.

Problem is that i have setup my ps3 and my computer to send 5.1 to the speakers and they cant seem to decode the signal.

On the control pod it shows that its either dts or DD but no sound comes out.. i have tried every configuration possible on my ps3 to try to get 5.1 from bluray movies and games but it wont work.

Also 5.1 output from my computer wont work

With either my computer or ps3 the only sound i can get is stereo

Can anyone help me with this issue please?

Forgot to mention that my computer is connected via coax and the ps3 is connected by optical. Also ive made sure the settings on the rear are set to 6ch.

Hi, can you try a system reset? With the system in standby, hold the input and settings button on the control pod until the firmware is displayed. Where did you get the new pod?

Yeah ill give that a try and update later tonight.

I got the new pod from the shop where i purchased the speakers from. Told them it was faulty, they tested it and gave me a new one

Audio should be set to bitstreaming on the PS3.

Make sure to check every available sampling rate when configuring audio.

On your PC, depending on the DVD software you use (CyberDVD, WinDVD) you may need to manually set output through SPDIF and select multichannel.

Ive reset the control pod and im on firmware 2.1.0

Ive checked all settings in ps3 audio and changed the setting in video to bitstream instead of linear pcm and it still wont work.

The control pod shows that its DD but no sound will come out

Hi,

The Z-5500 decodes only Dolby Digital (5.1) and DTS 5.1

It does not decode HD Audio.
