I have a squeezebox receiver and a boom, both running wirelessly from the Squeezebox / Logitech Media Server (NOT mysqueezebox.com), and there is an obvious lag in the sound from one device to the other that is MORE than annoying - especially since the thought was to use a network of squeezeboxes to achieve whole house audio....
I use the squeezeboxes primarily with pandora - the receiver is in the family room, the boom is in the kitchen (which is adjacent to the family room, if that matters). I've updated the software to the latest versions across the board, and while I might have synced music for a minute, the two devices lose track of each other quickly to the point where I feel like I'm listening to a round.
Any suggestions??

hmmm.... LMS Sync should be pretty tight to all hardware players.
If you press FFWD on one player does that re-Sync them both to better Sync timing temporarily?
You are not using any software player, correct? These will never Sync accurately with hardware players.
What computer and OS is hosting LMS? Is this computer wired?

Home desktop connected to network via ethernet and running WXP is hosting LMS. Haven't tried pressing FFWD to catch them up as yet - will give it a shot tonight, but guessing it will be a temporary fix vs. a permanent one.
"You are not using any software player..." - guessing by software player you mean mysqueezebox.com vs. LMS? If so, that is the first thing I checked into after seeing a similar post in the forums - both the boom and the receiver are linked to LMS.
Or do you mean apps like pandora, etc.?

No, I meant one of the software players you can use with LMS, one is called SqueezePlay. Essentially they are used to turn any PC/Mac into another SB player (but with limitations) and/or used to control other SB players from a computer. Due to numerous issues with any software player they do not Sync accurately with other players, hardware or software.
You are correct about Syncing with MySB.com, it will not be a true "Sync" as it is (or should be) with hardware players on LMS.

Got it. Definitely not using my PC as another SB player, though I was fiddling with the LMS itself to try to work on settings for my SB receiver (vs. using SB remote).
Thanks for any thoughts you might have!

hmmm. very odd as I get rock solid perfect sync across several hardware players (connected to LMS) in two different setups. If you haven't, I might do a factory reset on all my players just to rule that out.

I find it is best to have them playing the same radio station first then sync them up.

Factory resets on both the boom and the receiver - still a significant lag. Tried playing the same radio station first, then syncing, and saw a more significant lag.
Is there something I should be doing with respect to IP addresses (static vs. automatic) on my router and or squeezeboxes?
Thanks for the continued support, and any guidance you might be able to toss my way!

As long as there are not duplicate IP's I can't see IP's causing Sync lag.
Can you try a different station or service to compare Sync? i.e. Does it Sync accurately on other stations, just not Pandora?
You are certain your players are connected to LMS on your computer and not MySB.com? Play a local music file, then switch to a Pandora stream. Make sure players do not switch to MySB.com. Can you still control the players via LMS web UI while on Pandora?
