Broken knob on Radio - any ideas?

I have a brand new Radio that has a broken knob: it turns without any problems, but turning it has no effect - it won't scroll down through lists (I've not been able to connect to my network as I can't scroll down the wireless list to select my network)

The radio was bought for me as a gift off ebay so isn't covered by warranty. I'd rather not write off the full unit without trying to get it repaired somehow, but Squeezebox don't have recognised repairers here (Australia).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be the problem or how it might be able to be fixed? I'm happy to poke around inside if that is needed - I am fairly comfortable with that sort of thing.

If anyone from Oz is reading, any suggested repairers would be great as well.

Thanks!
