I have now made a customer update and observerd no changes. What I have found out is that if I - instead of selecting a sound as wake up - choose a favorit radio station then i can pause the alarm by turning the knob 6 click and then press the knob. If I then wait at least one minute before pressing the power butten then it is possible to switch off something lake 8 out of 10 times without that the Squeezabox is restarting.
Please note that I am pressing the power butten several seconds in order to switch off, not going on stand by.
Going into stand by is not giving any problem.
I feel that the problem depends on how long I wait from from turning the alarm off until I press the power button and how long I press the power button.
Any adwise how long to press the knob and the button?
Thanks a lot in advance.

OK. Thanks to bluegaspode I found out that the problem of shutting down the alarm is to be found in the translation of the setting (dutch in my case) and the help-text with it. I thought that repeating alarm mend that a alarm sound would be repeated if it had end. If the setting was called one-day alarm or week alarm it would be more clear for me.
Testing as Kiruban asked me for the six-click problem didn't gave any shocking result. This is the same with or without the NAS (Squeezebox Server) attached, and only the mysqueezebox.com connection.

Also the "six click problem" is intentional and was introduced with recent firmwares of the Radio.
In previous firmwares the alarm window behaved like any other menu. One 'click' changed the selection.
The problem with this was, that when people woke up in the morning and tried to hit the button they also unintentionally turned the knob and got a very erratic behaviour with snooze vs. turning off the alarm.
I mean when you lie in your bed your position towards the Radio often is not the best (and also not your consciousness).
So it was decided to force the user to do more than a single click - i.e. do a full/half turn before pressing the button to really change the selection.
Personally I don't use the big knob anymore. Pressing the power button (short press) robustly cancels the current alarm.
Pressing the volume button Snoozes the alarm.
This is much easier for me to remember.
@bljensen: why are you pressing the power button for a long time so that the Radio shuts down? I think it's very uncommon to shut down the Radio completely (and having to wait the next time until it boots).

Reply: I do this because the display at day time is very bright. If there was a possibility to adjust max intensity and not only min intenity I would use stand by

Did you try to play with the settings of the Radio?
Even if you have set the Radio to use automatic brightness, the 'manual brightness' setting still sets the maximum brightness.
So you can configure the maximum brightness when it's light and minimum brightness when it's dark.
Not very intuitive but it works ![]()

Unfortunately reducing light as described does not work on my device. Do I need any other special setting?

I just used the three options in the brightness menu.
