Duet Controller Display stopped working, can't see anything

[ Edited ]

I recently bought a new (open box) Logitech Squeezebox Duet which has worked but I have been having a lot of issues with it.  Everything has pretty much worked at one time or another but now it's not.  I have two different issues.  Logitech Media Server is not running and I can't get it to run after doing a clean install of Windows XP for another problem unrelated.  It did work before.  But that's not my main concern now.  Just now my display screen on the controller stopped working...for good?  It comes on at startup for 30 seconds or so and just before the startup tune is played it cuts off.  The screen does not work at all after that point so you can't see anything to navigate.  The screen is just totally off.  I pulled the battery a few times and started up a few times and it's just not working.  So this whole thing is a pile of junk now with a lot of money wasted.  I'm extremely dissapointed with this terrible product and Logitech in general (I own several of their products unfortunately).  I am amazed at how many problems people are having with just this one product in particular.  How does something this buggy get on the market?  It's amazing to me.  This product has so many endless problems it should not even exist.  If anything it should still be in the testing phase, and not for sale.  I don't know why my display on the controller for the duet is no longer working, and just stopped working today.  I've only had this thing for maybe a month.  Is there nothing that can be done?  Is this thing garbage now?

Are you sure the Controller is sitting in the charging cradle correctly and getting a charge?

Yes it was, that's not the issue, it had a full charge at the time, and the issue actually started when it was sitting in the charging cradle.  I am wondering if there is any way to factory reset the controller without being able to see the display?  And what could cause an issue like this?

Re: Duet Controller Display stopped working, can't see anything

Thanks for your suggestion.  It seems to have helped.  I don't know why, as the battery showed full and should not have been even close to drained.  The unit sits on the charger when not in use, and it failed yesterday just after I started it up.  I was able to fix this problem by starting up and continually setting it in the charger for which I would get about 2 seconds of screen display and then it would cut out.  I used that to navigate to factory reset which it did and now I have re-setup everything and it seems to be working, the screen is staying on as it should.  Have no idea how this happened but glad it's resolved.  Thanks for the suggestion!
