Issue with new music and the iPhone remote

I have an odd issue that occurs intermittently.  Sometimes when I rip new CDs into my iTunes library, then re-scan my library via the Logitech Media Server Control Panel (LMSCP), the new music will always be there, but it will often times not show up in the "artist" category.  For example, tonight I ripped a couple of Massive Attack CDs into iTunes.  I then re-scanned my library with the LMSCP.  When using either my iPhone or iPad Squeezebox app, Massive Attack does not show up in the apps under the "artist" category.  However, when I search for the new music under the "Electronica" genre, there it is, both albums, artwork and all.  Also, the albums appear in the "new music" category on the apps.  But Massive Attack does not appear in the "artist" list.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Thanks for the help.

Re: Issue with new music and the iPhone remote

Which App, the Logitech one?

It's probably missing the update (there's a bug in the server that sometimes doesn't make it send a timestamp), especially when you also restart the server.

Unfortunately Logitech's App doesn't have a way to manually flush the cache. I could of course recommend iPeng but that's not free (but you can manually flush the cache if this happens).

Re: Issue with new music and the iPhone remote

I'm using the Logitech Squeezebos app on my iPhone and iPad.  When I scan the library, it picks up the change, i.e., the added new music.  In the example I gave above, after ripping a couple of new CDs into my iTunes library, then re-scanning for changes via the Logitech Media Server Control Panel, the new music shows up in the Squeezebox iPhone and iPad apps under the categories of the "new music," and also in the category of "genre."  But they do not show up in the "artist" category, which is where I typically go to play my music.

Re: Issue with new music and the iPhone remote

Yes, I understood that.

The Logitech App (like all the others) caches the content of the Artists menu (same with Albums etc) and only refreshes it when it notices that the content has changed (e.g. through a rescan).

This is what obviously doesn't work here.

It doesn't have a way to manually clear the cache like iPeng does.

Uninstall and re-install might help.

Re: Issue with new music and the iPhone remote

Got the same problem. I solved it by just going to "bibliotheek wisselen" (must be something like "change library", jsut under the "search" icon.

There I "changed" the library and afterwards I saw all my recent albums I added to the server.
