Questions about Squeezebox™ Radio before buying.

Hello all,

I'm thinking of buying Squeezebox™ Radio and I need these questions answered.

1. Does it have possibility for FM radio play?

2. Can it play from home cloud storrage (WD MyBook LIVE)?

3. Does it comes with remote?

Thanks,

S@

1. no. but most fm radio stations are available via internet streaming. I listen to all my local stations via internet with the radio (plut there are 1,000s of worldwide radio stations available).

2. hmmm, sorta. It will certainly play from a local server (computer (windows, Mac, linux system, etc.), NAS, etc.) that is running Logitech Media Server program and that contains your local music. I have about 70,000 files on my local music server.

3. I think it did. can't recall. I have tons of remotes that came with all my SB players and don't use any of them. I instead use an app on my iphone or ipad to control the radio.  Apps available for android as well.

Re: Questions about Squeezebox™ Radio before buying.

Not exactly got the answer...

1. I need radio because I dont think that I will find all radio stations on internet. Is there possibility manualy to add url?

2. I got the NAS and server streaming files, what I wanted to know is does it scrap music from standard storrage?

3. Ill check the site again.

1. Yes, you can add URLs.

2. What do you mean by "scrap from standard storage"? You need to run the Logitech Media Serevr on the NAS, I'm not sure whether that will work on the WD MYBook but I believe it will not.

3. No, the remote is not included, it's part of the "Accessory pack" together with a battery.

You can use an iPhone/iPad/Android device for remote control, there's a free App from Logitech and various commercial ones from other sources (such as me :smileyhappy: )

Re: Questions about Squeezebox™ Radio before buying.

Here's a thread on getting LMS running on WD Mybook. So it might just work for you....

and yes, if you can get a URL for a radio stream, you can add this to your favorites and listen. But I'd be very surprised if you had to do this.  Mysqueezebox.com and its radio station aggregators have databases of virtually every station I've ever looked for, certainly all the actual broadcast stations I've searched for.  But again, you can always add the URL.
