I have a rebuffering problem that I experience on both my Touch and Radio devices (LMS v7.7.1):
1) Play a local music file and turn off the device (doesn't seem to matter if I pause or not first).
2) Turn on the device and continue playing the same song.
3) The song plays for several seconds and then there is no sound. Display says "rebuffering". After several seconds (>20) it starts playing again while saying it failed to rebuffer. There don't seem to be any rebuffering problems again until I turn it off.

Hello cncb,
How are you connecting your Radio, Touch? Wireless or Ethernet? How far are the Touch/Radio away from the Router/Modem?
Try the following and see if it aids you to resolve this issue :
1, Power Cycle the Router(unplug the router/modem and let it sit for 2 mins)
2, On the Touch/Radio, go to Settings>Advanced>networking and reconnect to your network
See if that helps to resolve the issue. If that does not do it. Perform a manual firmware update on both the devices.
Last but not least, see if you can perform a Factory Reset if the above recommendations does not address and resolve your concerns
Buffering issues is normally caused by network connectivity issues. It is indeed strange to find out that it only happens when you turn on your device and play the music files.
You had mentioned music files...Does this only happen when you play any particular music file or any? Does this behaviour happen when you play music directly from Mysqueezebox.com?
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. The Radio and Touch connect wirelessly and the Touch is right above the router on the floor above, the Radio 2 floors up. They always indicate very good wireless signal strength.
I have power-cycled/reset everything multiple times. It seems to happen with both MP3 and FLAC files. As I described it only happens (and consistently) after I first take it out of standby and continue playback from a previous "session". If I instead play a different song/playlist I don't see the problem.

Hello cncb,
When did this problem start? Can I also get you to try the following :
1, Connect your touch to Mysqueezebox.com and update the player to 7.7.2(Settings>Advanced>Networking>switch to mysqueezebox.com/ Settings>Advanced>Software update>Begin update)
2, Put a couple of songs on an SD card or USB stick and try to play the songs from the touch itself.
See if you run into the same problem. If you are successful in playing them without any problem, then you can update the server to 7.7.2.
MP3 and FLAC Files should play without problems, its strange that you are running into this.

I've had this issue for the 2 or so months that I've owned my squeezeboxes and I already updated to 7.7.2 as soon as it came out so no differences there. I guess I'll just have to live with it for now although it is a little embarassing having to explain to family members why the new, expensive equipment pauses for so long unexpectedly. Thanks for trying to help.

I'm not seeing this on my WiFi Radio. Whether I press Pause, Stop, Power (standby), simply pressing Play resumes the song without any rebuffering or loss of audio.

I am having a similar problem, with version 7.7.2.
I am using a SqueezeBox2, with the server running on Windows 7, latest updates, 8 gigs of memory. Not much of anything else running...
If I attempt to play from my hard drive to my stereo, I will get music for probably 30-40 seconds then it will blank for about 10 seconds then play on. The 'on' periods can vary between 30 seconds and maybe a minute, apparently depending on what song is being played. This happens with random mix turned on or off.
I have rescanned my entire music library ust in case, and no joy - the music still cuts out regularly.
I have tried connecting to the internet through the server, and it is much better, however I do get little blimps roughly every two minutes.
It sounds an awful lot like a buffer is being not filled somewhere then passed off to the player.
When looking at the squeezebox2 when the music is 'on' you can see a scrolling stream of text regarding the particular song, artist etc. When the music is 'off', you see only the title of the song, and that is dimmed.
Anybody got any ideas. I've had this problem since installing 7.7.2. How do I go back to the previous release?
Thanks,
