SB Touch - Audio Out

Had the Touch for 2 months now - great product.  I have it connected directly to my Niles 1230 amp for the whole house system.  When turned off, the Touch still sends some something to the amp such that it's 'audio sense' feature detects a signal and will not shut off.

I've read on other forums that there's a system option to address this in other SB products...Have I missed an obvious fix? Is there an applet I can install - or is there a SW upgrade pending?  Thanks for your help.

Re: SB Touch - Audio Out

The SB Radio is the only Squeezebox with a true OFF position. OFF on all other Squeezeboxes is really Standby. Squeezeboxes are network devices so they must always be on to be able to respond to network commands.

If you really want to turn it off and on each time, you will need to unplug it, use a switched power strip or wall outlet, or the switched outlet on an A/V Receiver. Of course one can always use an X-10 module or even the Clapper as the switch.

I would think there are not going to be any Firmware Updates to address this as it is how the device is designed so it can be communicated with by the Controller and WebUI (or any other device on the network IE iPeng).
