I am glad that 7.7.1 is working for you. It would be nice to know what the resolution to the 7.7.2 problem might be. Others seem to have prblems as well.

I spoke too soon. I assumed because 7.7.1 was loading OK without the privileges error message then all was fine, but I now find that my SB Touch still can't connect to the server.

Not sure if this is the same issue, or a new one. The SB Touch has just forced me to upgrade its firmware to 7.7.2 so is it an issue that it is at a different version than the server?

I'm getting really cheesed off with all this!

Take a look at Erland's post on the above thread regarding downgrading firmware. The thread is about a different version but the process should be the same. You should not need 7.7.2 firmware w 7.7.1 LMS.Link to 7.7.1 firmware below. I do not get prompts for firmware updates because I do not use mysqueezebox.com. That being said ignore them in the future.
