Yes, your description of the bug sounds correct. It's almost certainly a problem with the how the application is using the API, and is likely an easy fix.
But the question remains...
How can we get the engineers to actually fix it?
From your responses it sounds like they just don't care and it's not a priority at this point. Yet it completely destroys the functionality of the application! Is there somebody else you can raise these concerns to? The "product specialist" doens't appear to want to help.

Anyone who has issues with the Spotify app if they reply to a bug or a enhancement request and vote then the engineers will see it more.
You would just need to post it on the other threads here or/and at http://forums.slimdevices.com.
The more attention it gets the more likely they will try and fix it or speak with Spotify about it.

For information, I have the exact same problem. But, with songs that plays fine on my laptop.
And, it changed. At the begoinning, all songs worked fine, it's only since 1 week that the problem has appeared.

Have 100% the same problem. :-/
And on top of that, the Spotify app relay time from pressing play on a song that can be played is suddenly VERY long.
Has been like this since the breakdown of the mysb.com serveres a couble of days ago. :-(

Same here. It is not a region problem.
My Notebook and Smartphone is playing these tracks with sound.
The Bugzilla bug tracking of Logitech seems to be abandon. Hopefully someone will fix this ...

To Cat and all engineers and product specialists. I fully support the complaints above. I am an active user of Spotiy Premium and bought Squeezebox Touch the other day, only since I thought this would work perfectly with Spotify. I managed to install the spotify app on squeezebox Touch and I play radio stations perfectly. But when I try to play songs from Spotiy, I get noe sound. I can see the soundtrack is playing, but no sound is coming out. Why??? I might go back to shop with the Squeezebox and claim my money back if this is not fixed as soon as possible. Any new status on this issue Cat?

Unfortunately I can add myself to the list of people suffering from this bug. I truly hope it will get fixed, it's making Spotify on the Squeezebox unneccessary inconvenient and occassionaly a quite frustrating experience.
It's not fun to find a album that you'd really would love to play and then find out it's completely unplayable..
