I've read that the SqueezeBox Touch lacks the capability to automatically reconnect to a Wi-Fi network after a power outage. The unit retains the network information but the reconnect must be done manually.
Is this a correct understanding? Or is there a configuration option for automatic Wi-Fi reconnect that reviewers have missed?
Thank you.

Not correct. SB players will reconnect to whatever WiFi it was connected too prior to losing power. I reboot my router once per month (remove power) and I've been through numerous power outages over the years with my SB players including my Touch. I've never once had to re-setup their WiFi networking settings after such events.

I can confirm this as well. In one location, I turn off all power when away (cabin) and upon return, I turn on power and router starts up, finds a connection, and all my SB's automatically connect with no intervention from me, including my WIFI connected RADIO and CONTROLLER.

p.s. many reviews I've read of the TOUCH or other squeezebox players are full of lots of incorrect information and it is pretty clear to me that many reviewers don't actually understand how SB players even work and how they work together for a whole house system. I could go on and on about the misconceptions I see printed or on the web. But I'll leave it at this....

SqueezeBox Radio doesn't reconnect Wi-Fi after power on. Though it remembers wireless setting (passkey).
That really seems to be some sort of defect. version 7.7.2 r9663

I disagree. Both of my radios (at two different locations/routers) automatically reconnect to WIFI after power on. Something must be different in your settings, etc.

After power on (getting power adapter into AC) it boots with "Free your music" and gets into "Home" menu with 3 options: Now Playing, My Music, Settings. WiFi icon in the bottom right corner is RED. And never get white by itself.
I've waited half of an hour without luck. The only way to reconnect is to go into Settings->Advanced->Networking->Choose Network->Connect to wireless network->[network]. Note: I have "hidden" WiFi network (without name
broadcasting).
Where can I switch on autoreconnect option if any?

Addition:
After power on, in Diagnostics->Wireless Info it shows correct last used wireless network and signal, but it has blank IP Address/Subnet/Gateway and DNS. So it clearly remembers last wireless network but doesn't want to connect it without manual "Choose network"

hmmm. this is odd. There is no "turn on reconnect" option, as it just happens automatically. You should turn OFF the HIDE SSID in your router. This can cause issues with SB players (and other things) and provides ZERO security. Even with the HIDE turned on, any free wifi finder can see your SSID and its name. Install inSSIDer or netstumbler on your computer and run it...it will show all the names of all SSIDs it can see in your location, whether those names are "hidden" or not.
