SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

My Squeezebox Player has suddenly stopped connecting to my wi-fi network. It can connect wired to the router and also wirelessly in the room where the router is but not where I connect it to my stereo and where it has been working before. The wi-fi signal has not changed according to my PC and the controller connects to the network.  Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Re: SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

What model Squeezebox are we talking about?

Have you added new wireless devices to your home? Have you tried a different WiFi channel? Is your WiFi Router overly warm?

Re: SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

I have a Squeezebox Duet, about 2-3 years old.

I have not added new wireless devices.

How do I try a different wi-fi channel?

I've never felt the wi-fi wouter before but it feels a bit warm. It is a quiet a hot day here. The wi-fi signal strength on my PC is at maximum in the room where I am trying to connect the player.

Thanks for taking time with my problem.

Re: SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

have you checked the wifi strength for the duet receiver itself. This can be very different from the laptop wifi strength (even in the same room). You should be able to check wifi strength by using the controller and going to one of the menu items (networking? or settings> information, or something similar). I could have excellent strength on my laptop and 40% on a SB player two feet away (and 40% will not produce a reliable stream). Antennas are very different!

To change the channel,  you usually use a web interface to access your router (e.g., http://192.168.1.1). If you've never changed the channel, it is lilkely on 6. Try 1 or 11 instead. If a neighbor has a new "N" router set to maximum strength, you might be getting interference on the wifi channel you're using.  You'll need your router admin password (would have been setup initially when setting up the router).

Re: SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

The router channel was on Auto so I changed it to 1 and 11 but it had no effect. The controller has no problem getting a wi-fi signal just the player.

The problem started when I had a power cut. The player went off and has not connected since.

Re: SqueezePlayer not connecting to network

have you tried a factory reset for the receiver?  Check this thread:
