Hi

I tried to turn on my sb3 today and nothing.

the power supply appears to be ok - i can see red light from the optical output flashing on an off. Is it worth trying another one anyway?

Did not connect wirelessly so i tried plugging in via network cable and this did not make any difference. My PC still does not connect with the unit.

I also tried, after a search on the web, plugging in whilst holding down the +add and 1 and the brightness, but neither seems to make any difference.

Does anyone have any other ideas? It's worked faultlessly for years now, seems strange it would just stop like this.

If it comes to it, is it worth returning for repair or realistically am i looking at a new unit?

any help much appreciated?

They won't repair it even if you offered to pay for it.  Tried just pressing the brightness button a few times?  If all else fails you can open up the SB3 and try removing the WiFi card, see if the display comes back.

OK thanks for your help.

I tried the wifi card but that made no difference. so as a last resort i went back to my hifi and plugged it back in on a different socket with my amp and it caused the amp to cut out... 

so now i'm thinking maybe there is a fault with the power supply. i'll get another one tomorrow just to rule that out.

Picked up a new power supply from Maplins and hey it works, and i'm back in business.

thank god for that!
