I'd suggest a Factory Reset, if that does not fix it try a Xilinx Reset, if that does not work try a return for warranty.
BOOM FACTORY RESET:
Disconnect the power, Press and hold "+" on the remote or front panel, Reconnect the power, Release the "+" button when you see "Factory Reset..." on the screen
BOOM XILINX RESET:
Disconnect the power, Press and hold the "1" preset button on the front panel, Reconnect the power, Release the "1" button when you see "Programming Xilinx" on the screen

Thanks for your request. I tried this this moment. BOOM FACTORY RESET didn't help. Better BOOM XILINX RESET. Now it works.
Thank you very much for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had this issue and repeated attempts at the factory and Xilinx reset didn't work. I was going to give up and sell my Boom for spares, but tried downloading to an earlier firmware (just install an older version of SB Server and connect Boom to it).
I then did another factory reset and upgraded back to latest firmware. Can't remember at what point it started working, but the downgrading firmware step did the trick.

It was probably the firmware somehow became corrupt, but unlike other Squeezeboxes there is no way to reinstall the update except to load an older version of the server on the computer and update to that version then connect back to mysqueezebox.com to get the latest re-installed.
