Squeezebox Player question

Has there been any discussion on creating a Web radio like the Squeezebox for the blind? My father is looking for something he can use that would be easy for him and he is blind. Anyone here know someone that's used this device that is blind?

Just trying to find out the best option for him.

Thanks,
Greg

Re: Squeezebox Player question

Does he happen to have an iPhone or iPad?

The Squeezebox can be remotely controlled with iPhone and iPad and iPhone/iPad can be controlled with VoiceOver, a voice-feedback feature for blind people.

We have optimized the iPeng remote control for VoiceOver to make sure it's well supported (Logitech's free App, unfortunately, does not support VoiceOver). In this case I would recommend to use the iPhone version of the iPeng App even on iPad although some of our blind beta testers say the iPad App works fine, too.

If you have further questions on this, please mail me under coolio (att) penguinlovesmusic (dott) com

VoiceOver in general is a very nice technology and a lot of blind people tell me iPhone/iPad support for it has been a great improvement with regards to computer/electronics use capabilities.
