Squeezebox Players

I've purchased a Squeezebox Radio for my son's room to replace a dead MP3 player that we used to use.  I have a simple goal - play music, either a playlist or artist, all night long.  Unfortunately, I'm unable to achieve my goal.

Initially, I'd pick an artist, and turn on "repeat playlist."  It wasn't repeating, no matter what I did.

Currently, I've tried creating a playlist of about 300 tracks, which is enough for about 15 hours of continuous play.  I'll start it at 8:30pm, and when I go into his room at 6am to wake him up, it's not playing anymore.  It's sitting on a now playing screen, but playback has stopped, and it's not made it all the way through the playlist.

Any ideas of what might be stopping the playback?  My son is in a crib on the other side of the room, so I know it's not him  Is there perhaps something in the server that would cause it to stop?

You obviously have not seen the baby on the E-Trade commercials.  

When you see it has stopped what is the color of the WiFi icon on the screen?  Red?  Blue?  White?

What is signal strength on Radio?

Any chance your router is being rebooted and/or renewing it's IP lease from your ISP over night?

SBS server computer going to sleep?  Or doing some nightly computer maintenance routine?

Tried it during day, all day, see if it can successfully play for 10 hours?

Might even be a corrupt file in the Playlist, dunno.  Can it stream internet radio non-stop?

I'll start working my way down this list  I believe that the wifi icon is white most of the time.  But I'll check on those other items as well to try to trace and get back to you.  Thanks so much for the steps!

Hello Chris,

For an internet station try making a Pandora or Slacker account and making a station that you can play while connected only to mysqueezebox.com like squeezeit suggested and see if that plays all night. (settings>advanced>networking>switch to mysqueezebox.com)

Also you can check Radioio or Radionomy sometimes have young children stations.

Yeah, the problem could be any of a dozen issues, or even a combination of issues, so process of elimination is needed to start a proper diagnosis.
