I'm enjoying my Sqeezebox radio, but I was never thrilled about the need to run a special PC as a 24x7 server dedicated to my music. A new option is now available thanks ot Amazon! Yesterday they announced the "Amazon Cloud Player", which is basically a digital storage locker for your music in the cloud that provides instant streaming of your songs. Currently they only offer it to PCs and Andorid phones/tablets. Wouldn't it be great if the Squeezebox could connect to the Amazon Cloud Drive?
There is alreayd an Amazon CD-Store app in the App Gallery for Squeezebox that lets you buy Amazon music, but why couldn't it be updated to connect directly to the cloud service so we no longer needed a full-time web server to play our own music?
How about it Logitech and Amazon? Can you get together and figure this out? Seems like a win/win for everyone.

I sent in a suggestion to Amazon about that same issue. I got a standard reply back thanking me for the suggestion and saying that they would pass it on to the proper department - for what that's worth.

I am looking for exactly that. I definitely second the suggestion. Hope we'll get the functionality soon.

Yes, the new Amazon cloud service offers essentially the same thing as the MP3tunes service (except it is offering a cheap first year introductory price -- 20gb for free if you buy any mp3 album download -- the one I bought cost $3). For 50bg, MP3tunes is cheaper: $40/year vs $50/year). Logitech should add Amazon Cloud as a Squeezebox app, too. Freedom of choice!

Even Apple has finally allowed for a Cloud Player app for iPhone. C'mon Squeezebox!

Love to see it, but I'm not blaming Logitech. Has Amazon allowed third-party access to anyone? AFAIK there is no API for their cloud service.

apple has a cloud player app for AMAZON cloud? I wasn't aware of that and if true, that is surprising. And my understanding is that even the Apple Cloud music is not STREAMED to apple devices. Rather it is downloaded to those devices and then played.
I'm not sure I see the value in any case (as your SB devices are in your home, and your music is in your home on your own computer or NAS). But to the extent you'd like to be able to stream music from your home collection to wherever you are in the world, this is already easily doable. Buy the iPENG app for your iphone or ipad. And there are instructions available that allow you to connect over the internet to STREAM your home music collection to your iphone/ipad. You can even automatically bitrate limit the stream so that you have lossless FLAC or ALAC files at home, but they stream to your iphone as 128kbs files, for example, in order to save bandwidth....
