Touch - audio glitch near end of tracks

I have a touch connected to a USB drive with about 130gb of audio in apple lossless and mp3 formats. About a second before the end of a track there is a short audio glitch, like playback has been interrupted for a fraction of a section. It is pretty annoying. I am running the latest firmware. It only happens with playback via the USB, not when I am connected to my pc. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? Thanks

Re: Touch - audio glitch near end of tracks

I have exactly the same problem. I'm playing .flac files from a hard drive directly connected to the Squeezebox. Up until the latest firmware upgrade everything was fine. Now I get an annoying (fraction of a second) dropout at the end of most tracks when playing a list. It seems to me that the problem might be caused  by the device loading/converting the next track before finishing the current one. I am considering re-setting the firmware to the previous version - downloads of V7.7.1 seem readily available on the web. I'll probably have to experiment a bit, though. Any suggestions welcome!

Re: Touch - audio glitch near end of tracks

Changing back to the previous version of the SB Touch firmware appears to have cured the problem. You need the fab4_7.7.1_r9558.bin file from http://downloads.slimdevices.com/LogitechMediaServer_v7.7.1/. Stick it on an SD card and put this into the slot on the side. When you go to Settings/Advanced you will NOW get the option to revert to the old version.

Clearly, this is not an ideal solution - but it works for me.:smileyhappy:
