Squeezebox Players

At this time our player does not work that way as you need the Server to read music files and then stream them to the player.

You can use Apps to control your player. This will allow you to pick the options available on the player such as internet radio and any music on your Squeezebox server computer.

But you can already do all this can't you? Install iPeng app on your iPhone. Then from your iphone you can play (and control) your own music, spotify music, etc. Not sure about youtube, but I suspect if the youtube plugin is installed on your SbS, you can play that too.  I can run everything about my music from my iphone. see my signature....

With a third party app you maybe able to stream music from your iPhone, but not with our  programs at this time.

Not with App Store Apps. Apple explicitly disallows streaming from the iPhone to non-AirTunes devices, it's one of their review rules.

I have Airplay running on my Logitech Revue Google TV box using a third party ANdroid app called GTVBox. So clearly it can be done.

Yes, technically it can be done and some people have succeeded in doing so with a Squeezebox using SharePoint.

However, it's not something Logitech will be able to offer officially.

I managed to use Airfoil Speakers, a software that emulates Airplay on a pc, and wavein plugin on the Squeezebox server on the same pc. The quality of sound is good, with some gliches and not hifi sound, but for sure hearable with not major distorsions. Delay is 10s, due to wavein: Airfoil perfectly syncs with ipad played audio-video, so the delay is added after. Any idea on how to optimize/reduce the delay in Wavein? Also the sampling rate or any compression used might be an issue

There are alot of devices running airplay including surround recievers and passive wifi speakers - airplay only works on apple products is bull**bleep**
