Squeezebox Players

Is there any way to use the Spoitfy Desktop Application, rather than the app available from Logitech, to play music on my squeezebox touch? The service is great, but the limitations of the graphics make it hard to browse and the search functionality of the app leaves a lot to be desired when compared to using the desktop application.  If I am missing something I'd appreciate anyone's suggestion as to a better way to navigate using the app.  Thanks.

I believe the Logitech "App" is how Spotify wants it to be. Pretty similar to their iOS App.

If you are running Squeezebox Server (not the one on the Touch but on a computer/NAS) you could install the "3rd party Spotify plugin" which has a lot more capabilities.

You can install it under "Settings->Plugins" from the web interface when you tick "Enable 3rd party plugins" on that same settings page.

I am not sure if the third party plugin is compatible with the Touch as it was made for the older players.

I am sure it is compatible with the touch but you need to run Squeezebox Server.

It's required for the older players because they are not supported by the "App". And it does some UI things Spotify generally doesn't like, like storing favorites of Albums in an Artists/Albums hierarchy (and no, I have NO idea as to WHY Spotify doesn't like that).
