Squeezebox Players

I have "shuffle by song" mode enabled on my Touch.  If I play a Random Mix and then play one of my playlists it shows that "shuffle by song" mode is still enabled but that is not the case.  I can see this by looking at the the Now Playing list which shows the songs in the playlist in "unshuffled" order.  The only way to fix this is to toggle shuffle off and then back on which then shows the Now Playing list in a shuffled order as expected.

Will this be fixed?  Is there somewhere "official" I can report this bug?

Thanks for the link.  I reported this bug and it has not even been acknowledged/confirmed (or even read as far as I know).  Given the sheer number of "unconfirmed" bugs it seems like this is a waste of time and they don't really want to hear about bugs...

Bugs need to get a certain number of votes before they rise to the level of being looked at.  Some (but not all) bugs really do get fixed, particularly confirmed bugs.

in the meantime, you might consider using erland's dynamic playlist plugin. much better than regular random play mode anyhow....

I understand needing votes to add a new feature but needing votes to fix a bug doesn't make a lot of sense to me.  I'm also starting to think that no one else even uses shuffle mode given the problems I've had with it and the lack of answers.  In any case, here is a link to the bug: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17932

I have looked at the Dynamic Playlist Plugin and while it sounds nice, I think $20 for a plugin is a little unreasonable especially since I only paid $28 for a lifetime license to MediaMonkey which does a whole lot more.  I'm starting to wish that the Squeezeboxes would just support UPnP which would allow me to just use my MM playlists/autoplaylists and not have to maintain 2 databases and do the export/import dance...

i doubt many people use random play and shuffle combined if I understand what you are doiing correctly. But in any case, add a bug report, post it as I suggested, and get some votes (or maybe even better you'll get some help to show how to work around it or why it may not be a bug....lots more expertise over at "forums.slimdevices.com".   May not seem right to you, but I'm just telling you how it works; I don't make the rules (and neither does any of the logitech support folks reporting here--they are not the developers that fix bugs).

LMS/SB approach does many, many things beyond the basic UPnP approach, so that would be going backwards.  Regarding the cost, for about $50 you can get a lifetime rate for ALL of erlands plugins (and there are dozens, several of which make my SB experience very, very useful.  Plus he gives you a chance for a free trial for a certain period, so just try them....  I couldn't do without dynamic playlist combined with SQL playlist.
