Re: squeezebox touch my music problems

Hi,

Seems like I had the same issue as described in above. The web thing does not find my squeezebox touch and my squeezebox touch ask me to plug in a usb and tells me I need to install the Logitech Media Server even though it has already been done.

However, I am completely in the woods reg. how to solve this? And i am no expert on IT so the above makes little sense if at all to me. Any help is much appreciated.

Re: squeezebox touch my music problems

did you call support. they may be able to walk you through the setup. It should work fine and typically it is something small that a new user is just not setting up right or is confused about.

Re: squeezebox touch my music problems

My SB Touch also stopped displaying 'my music' from one day to another. Via SBS interface and Android interface I was still able to add my music to the playlist and play, but no longer from the Touch. I tried downgrades as suggested here, but no luck. I tried several things, several frustrating hours.

Finally the problem apperently was in the DHCP mechanism in the Touch. The DHCP server (my modem) uses a 'fixed' address for the Touch, as well as for other equipment, because I prefer this setup. After a modem reset all equipment gets the fixed addresses assigned again. This also works for the SB Touch, because it is able to play internet radio and the SBS interface can connect to it, but it fails to connect to my music.

The solution: modem just assigns an IP address via DHCP, but not a fixed IP address and immediately the Touch connects to my music libary on the SBS. Strange. Logitech, please investigate as this was a frustrating experience, which does not help me recommending your product to others. Hope this helps.

Setup:

SBS Touch (sw v 7.7.1), connected via ethernet cable to switch

Switch connected via ethernet cable to modem

Zyxel DSL modem with DHCP server

Sheevaplug running debian with Logitechmediaserver 7.7.1

Cheers
