How do you recalibrate the Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick?

[ Edited ]
My joystick recently got a glitch in the calibration.  When you attempt to use it the rudder axis deflects 20 degrees to the right and the elevator axis deflects downward.  I have tried everything I know to recalibrate, but no luck.

I have already tried different usb ports, new batteries and the Clear Configuration Utility.  I get a message when using the utility that "a config cannot be found and must have already been deleted."

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having the same error on my Y AXIS mate. I guess we need to reset joystick itself but don't know how.

Hi...

You need to be careful and precise when doing this, but:

1. Take out the batteries and leave off the battery cover
2. Turn the joystick upside down and hold is exactly vertically
3. Hold down buttons 7 and 8
4. Put the batteries back in, while still holding down buttons 7 and 8, then release
5. The new center is now the place where the center of the joystick was, when you placed the last battery in.
