Steering Wheels - Joysticks - Headsets - Gamepads

I purchased a MOMO FF wheel to play GRID with and it worked perfectly on my old system which was XP. I recently got a new computer (Intel Duo core Quad CPU with Vista 64 bit). After installing latest drivers & patches all around I find that the cars are almost unsteerable and tend to careen from side to side. I don't know if this is a game or hardware problem. Any ideas?

I have heard of this problem before with GRID and Vista 64. 

Does the wheel work in the Windows Game Controller Control Panel?
