Problem with Precision xbox wireless controller.

I just bought one of these.... works great but have 2 problems:

1. After the xbox is switched off, the controllers LED continues to flash over and over....all night and all day until the xbox is switched on again. its suppose to stop after 10 seconds

2. when Playing burnout revenge and other games the steering tends to veer to the right???

I read somewhere there is a keypad configuration to reset the controller, but am unable to locate it....perhaps this will help.

Please help...
