So recently picked up a set of Z-cinemas, they sounds quite good, but have already experienced a couple problems
Once my comp overheated while the speakers were connected via usb, the speakers then emitted a loud high frequency noise which I could only stop by taking out the main power.
Anyway they didn't work for a little while, but an hour or so later started to work again. (I tried usb and aux and neither worked during the period it didn't)
It started again and been using it fine for a couple of days.
Then something new started happening, I cannot adjust the bass or treble. They are both stuck at a certain place and turning the wheel on the remote doesn't do anything.
I tried adjusting form the Z Cinema software and its quite weird, before it would display the bass and treble levels according to the level they were at out of 8 dots, but now they just show up at the first dot, and even if I move them to another setting they go there but the bass/treble does not get adjusted
Overall I am pleased with the audio, but in a short time have experienced these problems already.
Thanks for your help.
I have tried reinstalling drivers, and unplugging power and restarting computer, but neither fixed the problem.

did the volume did not change even when you unplug the usb cable? or other computer?
do try to unplug the power cable at the rear of the subwoofer for several seconds. it solves some of my problems in which disconnecting ac cable from power strips did not help.

I was using in my laptop (windows) was working and then, after 2 weeks it just stop working, i tried in my new IMac and the same problem occurs. How about yours? I just unpplug/plug again the cables e nothing happens....What's going on?

i understand. if the Z cinema freezes, volume will not change. if the "application" freezes, then you cannot change the treble and settings. i have uninstalled the program. i can adjust via control panel > sound, or unplug the Z cinema USB cable.
i'm not sure whether have you read my recent post. I was having some problems with both my logitech and klipsch speakers.
So, you can't change treble and bass even when the USB is not connected? that's weird. when you disconnect the USB and restart the speaker, it should allow you to.

The bass and treble did not work, because it requires you to install the software. as far as i am concerned, they do not really make the driver for Mac OS (bear in mind it was marketed for Windows Media Center). However, perhaps you could adjust the bass and treble without unplugging them by going into the control panel > sounds.
Yes, it was their mistake to not engineered this product to work perfectly without driver. The drivers for the windows are terrible, take a look at how many complaints over system crash and distortion next to this thread...
