USB Speakers (READ ONLY ARCHIVE)

from my other thread.... but i figured I'd start a new one to describe what has to be done to fix it..LOGITECH should post this in their downloads as a standard.. as VISTA is at fault for making their Z-10's produce distorted/metallic sounding audio...

after searching all over i bumped into this fix from microsoft here :

it seems they dont include this in their windows update..you have to request for this fix  by email..  which im waiting for right now..

SYMPTOMS

"Consider the following scenario. You connect a universal serial bus (USB) speaker to a Windows Vista-based computer. The audio sounds clear. Then, you connect another USB device to the computer. For example, this USB device may be a USB mouse, a USB keyboard, or a USB game controller. In this scenario, the audio from the USB speaker is now distorted. This problem occurs when the computer uses an Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) controller."

I have requested this hotfix..am waiting for it to get to my email.. crossing my fingers

EDIT: THIS HOTFIX WORKS!!! My metallic/distortion troubles are OVER!!  thank god finally...

Hope you can also provide a link to download this hotfix, rather than we have to request it from microsoft by email.
