Hi,

Logitech does not support Beta Operating systems. If you have issues with drivers you will have to deal with Microsoft.

Re: Windows 7 Support Z cinema

Windows 7 and Vista are more similar than they are different.  I'm sure this is not supported, but I use the Vista drivers for my Z Cinemas and it works fine.

Re: Windows 7 Support Z cinema

Well..  I tried using my *new* Z Cinema speakers on my Win 7 machine, and the Vista driver doesn't work at all.  Tried both the 32 and 64 bits version - no luck. Maybe I should bring the speakers back to the store instead of waiting 3 months to get a driver? But thinking of it...

That reminds me an old Logitech webcam that I had 10 yrs ago, that worked just fine on my Windows 98 machine, and has never been supported anymore when I switched to Windows 2000.  Logitech's answer at the time was:  Dear customer.. please contact our sales rep, and we'll be glad to sell you a new model that is fully supported !!

Re: Windows 7 Support Z cinema

Sorry just a bit of clarification - I was planning to pick a set of Z Cinema speakers myself, is there no way at all to make them work on Windows 7?

Re: Windows 7 Support Z cinema

No way.  Windows 7 just doesn't "see" the driver as valid.   I reverted back to Windows Vista and the speakers work just fine now.

(btw..  just saw them at $70 at TigerDirect !)

I don't like Vista, but this is another example of many problems I'm having since I upgraded from Win 7 Beta to RC.  Too many issues with other software too.   I'll wait for the next release of Win 7, assuming that manufacturers will have settle down with their drivers and codes.

What do you mean by Win7 didn't "see" them as valid?  I've gotten my copy of RC1 installed and again I'm using the Vista drivers without any issues.

This is in x64.

Right.  I tried it on my laptop (Win 7 x86) and it worked.  Sorry about my previous post - must be a problem with my other machine ...

Hi,

Which is the reason we do not support beta RC candidate operating systems.

Re: Windows 7 Support Z cinema

If you right click and then select properties on the install files there is a compatibility tab. Under this tab select "Run this program in compatibility for:" and select vista. Then select OK and install the file as normal. This should allow the program to be installed and make the drivers work as normal....at least they did for me.
