Must be that the lifetime is counted to about 2 years +few months. My Z-10 just stopped working after turning PC on this morning. The buttons lit up, you can mute, change bass and treble levels, but you cannot operate main volume from PC, nor from speakers panel. Obviously there is no sound in any case. Did the standard regiment of reloading drivers, restored system, uinstalled AV software, to no avail. To confirm death I connected PC through 3.5 jack cable, still nothing (earphones connected to the same place work fine). Anything else we can try before I ship it to my friend from technical institute?
Questiion though, did everybody here upgraded to Windows 7 RC recently? Can it be sudden reason to those deaths in last month? Some power management problem or simmilar (my USB ports are a bit wacky even since upgrade)
Cheers
T.
EDIT: ok hard reset with unplugging from everything for 30 minutes helped and they got up... so I recommend disconnecting from power where not used.

Hi,
As I see you have found out, USB speakers are essentially ON all the time. Pulling the AC power and disconnecting the USB cable will perform a reset of the speakers.
Logitech Customer Support for further assistance.
You can also Email Us

Mike

I too have the same problem - for a while now when the power is on only the screen lights up (blank) and no response is to be had from either the AUX port or the USB cable (I have tried at least 5 of the 30 or so USB cables lying around).
I have tried the old power tricks too, and reset the software etc.
A shame because they didn't last long, they are out of warranty but were never used much (although I had big plans...).

I have also experienced the Z10 slow dieing act.
First the crackling then the no sound.
Now when I turn them on I get a short buzz, the LCD and switch panel light up, no controls except for the bass and Windows Vista tells me there is no audio device connected. Done all of the switching, cable and socket switching and joy.
I only bought them in March and was very pleased with them especially as I was comparing them to already owned Altec Lansing (8 years old and still going strong) & Altec Lansing (Onkyo cones, three years old).
I too thought of Logitech products being of a good solid quality now I am starting to think otherwise, especially seeing that this seems to be a common issue.
Will be putting in for a warranty claim on Monday. Are they still available as they do not come up on the current product listing or is this the reason they don't.
Regards,
cogs

These speakers sound great but are too buggy to be of much use. They frequently won't turn on (or off) and I have to unplug them to get them working again. Also, depending on use, the display stops working. If I'm using them alot I'm lucky to have the display last a day. Under infrequent use, the display crashes every two to three days.
Customer service pointed me to a very old patch which I already downloaded months ago. After they suggested that - silence.
There are lots and lots of quality speakers out there. Next time I'll go for something other than Logitech.
