Z-Cinema Issues - Windows 7, Win Server 2008. Crashes, Quality, -> Moving from Win Vista

This post will hopefully address most of the problems that are occuring with Z-Cinema on Win7 (Or Win2k8 Server).

This fix does not work for my problem.

My issue:
At least 1-3 times/day I have to restart my computer because the Z=Cinema system is not responding.
For example I will be playing a game (MW2, TF2, WoW, etc...) and all of a sudden the game will freeze. I can interact with the PC as long as it doesn't involve sound.
My Z-Cinema is USB and I have not had any problems with Windows Vista, XP, Server 2003.

Unplugging Z-Cinema does not fix the problem.

Fix(Somewhat)
Restarting the following services has worked for me; Usually I just restart the entire PC since it is faster than restarting the services and their dependencies.

Below is a list of my current config.

(FIXES)

Most of us with windows 7 have experienced the problem that the USB function of the Z-Cinema speakers is basically useless due to software incompatibility issues (constant crashing software).  I just installed a clean Win7 Ultimate 32bit on my laptop and have found a pretty good solution, giving me surround, volume, and playback controls without the software.  Here's what I did:

1.  plugged in speakers afternfresh OS intall (no logitech drivers or software on pc)

2.  Let windows recognize them as z-cinema speakers (as both a keyboard and usb speakers) and assign a driver

3.  Aadjust the sound properties [Control panel>>Devices and Printers>>Right Click z-cinema usb speakers and click sound settings

4.  You will see a "Sound" box pop up and have your pc's speaker and driver listed and z-cinema under the Playback tab

5.  Highlight the z-cinema one and click properties below

6.  Select the "Enhancements" tab and check surround (or whatever it's called)  Play with the properties to get the sound you want (tru bass and WOW level)

Without installing anything other than what windows did i am able to have srs surround sound and at least minimal playback controls with the remote (volume, play pause).  I am using GOM media player (new to me, pretty nice) and It was working with WMP too.  Hope this helps un-brick everyone's speakers with 7.
