And yes, it doesn't work when I try using other flash-based sites such as http://www.odanta.com/. But I'm not sure /how/ to check if my Adobe Flash Player is detecting my cam (no clue how to test/check this).

I am having the same problem, and the article you linked to does not help. Flash detects the camera, but in Chatroulette when I click the flash camera preview, nothing shows and Chatroulette says there is no camera activity. How do we check to see if flash is detecting our camera properly? I'd hate to think I spent all this money on a well-reviewed webcam only to find it was useless for the intended puprpose.

I see that your HD Webcam C270 is not working on Chatroulette. If you are using a laptop with a built-in webcam there's a chance that you may have to select the C270 manually. To do so you can click on the Profile and Settings button on Chatroulette and select the C270 from the dropdown menu.
You can also verify if the computer is recognizing your webcam by going to the Device Manager and see if it's listed under the Imaging Devices section.
Please let me know how that goes. Keep on enjoying your C270.

I have selected the C270 from the drop-down menu, and I have also confirmed that the computer is properly recognizing the webcam, yet I am having the same problem so many others are having, in that Chatroulette will not recognize the input from the camera.

FIXED IT!!! Discovered that the problem is not in the computer, the webcam or Chatroulette...it's the bloody browser! As soon as I swicthed from Chrome over to Internet Explorer, the problem resolved and the webcam works!

Nope...only worked one time. Now, no matter what browser I use (even downloaded Opera to try that) I'm getting the old "no activity detected" error message again. Back to square 1: great webcam which won't work on the site on which I bought it to use.

OK - final reply. Figured it out! EVERYONE: HERE IS YOUR SOLUTION:
The webcam will not work in an application (ie - browser) if another application is using it. Therefore, DO NOT LAUNCH LOGITECH WEBCAM SOFTWARE BEFORE GOING ONLINE! Instead, go to Chatroulette (or, I assume, whatever site you want to use) and let that site enable your camera.
Worked for me, and I hope it works for you, too!
